Server Virtualisation
Server virtualisation is a proven technology that enables multiple Virtual
Machines to run on a single physical server. Each virtual machine is completely
isolated which allows the virtual machine to run different operating systems and applications.
As the Virtual Machines logically separated from the underlying host, the guest can be
moved from one physical server host to another while running; this is known as live migration.
Live migrations limit the server downtime due to hardware failure.
Virtual Machines are completely independent from their underlying hardware. Organisations can
use older or less expensive hardware at the failover site to reduce costs.
Server virtualisation will reduce your datacentre footprint, freeing up valuable datacentre
floor space, as well as reduce ever increasing power costs.
